What is Antivirus?

In order to know that what is “ANTIVIRUS”, first of all we have to know that what VIRUS exactly is.  A virus (VITAL INFORMATION RESOURCES UNDER SEIZE) as piece of code or we can say a computer program that is enter the computer without the knowledge of the computer’s owner.  Not only it enters the system without permission it also run against user consent.  These program files get inserted in the host programs and spread on the execution of infected programs.

These virus programs can corrupt the computer data, slower the computer performance, spread the viral code to other attached device or machines and can erase everything on hard disc.  These viruses are designed from computer programmers for their own gain.

Now, the question is how to deal with these VIRUS programs and the answer is “ANTIVIRUS”.  There are number of antivirus software which we can purchase and utilize to protect our computer from infected files and programs or viruses.   Anti-viruses are specially created and designed to deduct the computer viruses and then destroy them.  There are number of renowned companies which provide so many anti-viruses to choose from.

Most anti-virus removes and prevents all type of threats which can harm your computer program like worms, virus, Trojans, adware and other malicious software.  Without Antivirus, a computer gets infected in minutes when connected to internet.  There are number of companies which design the Anti-viruses and software which can vary but function same.

The basic functions which they perform are as follow:

  • Antivirus scans all files to differentiate and to prevent malicious patters or malware.
  • Antivirus allows you to schedule them so that they can scan the device full in intervals of time.
  • It allows you to scan any other new device which we sometimes connect to computer like hard discs and pen-drives.
  • Provides automatic updates, which is very import because the older version of antivirus may not be able to detect new viruses.
  • Antivirus provided data protection.
  • It also provides online security.
  • Antivirus are also anti spyware. Spyware are those programs which secretly steal information from the computer.
  • It also offers email protection.  Antivirus keep check on inbound and outbound emails and scan for the attached files if they are infected.

What is Digital Watermarking?

Digital watermarking is related to digital signal i.e. image, song, video that provide the identification of file’s copyright details and information.  The word watermark came from impartial marks or logo on stationary.

Watermarks are used from past quite long period but the digital watermark came in existence around 15 years back and nowadays used by most of the brands and companies.  Basically watermarking is the process of hiding digital information and details in a carrier signal.  In Traditional watermarks there are visible media like images or videos.  Whereas in digital watermarking, there are signals may be audio, pictures, video, 3D models or texts.  The main purpose of the digital watermarking is to provide protection to the copyright terms and condition.

Digital watermarking also provides source tracking, broadcast tracking and hidden communications.  It can also be used other purposes, such as advertising by adding company’s name and company’s logo as a watermark which also promotes the company.

Types of Digital watermarking

Visible Digital watermarking:

A visible watermark is an image, text or logo which is semi-transparent.  These are overlaid on the original image.  So people can see the image but still it will have copyright protection.  The semi-transparent watermarks can be spread all over the image by adjusting its size.  These are recommended for stronger protection of any owner’s property that is in digital format.

Invisible Digital watermarking:

An invisible watermark can’t be seen by the viewer’s only specialized software of device can detect it.  Invisible watermarks are used by the owner to provide protection to the copyright of any image, text or even videos which shows digital content’s authenticity.  Invisible watermarking is of three types i.e. Robust watermarking, Fragile watermarking and public and private watermarking.

Following are the advantages of digital watermarking:

  • Uniquely identifies the author of copyrighted work.
  • Implementation on PC platform is possible.
  • Embedding watermark is easy.
  • Image tampering detection.
  • Promotes owner’s company/brand
  • Helps in advertisement of the company

What is Android?

Nowadays, Android is the most used operating system in mobiles, mini computers and tabs.  An American company “Google”, owned this operating system named as “Android”.  Today almost every smartphone and tablet comes with Android operating system installed in it.  It offers users to access other services like you tube, Gmaps and Gmail etc which are also owned by Google.

Mobile operating system was evolved from Palm operating system in 1996 to Windows pocket PC in 2000 then to Blackberry OS and Android.  It is software which not only comprises operating system but also key applications and middleware.  Android operating system help users to easily collect information on web, easy direction search, and easy email access on phones and tablets same as one can do on his/her computer.

Android Inc was founded by Andy Rubin, Nick sears, Rich miner and Chris White in year 2003 in Palo Alto of California, U.S. and then Later Android Inc. was owned by Google in year 2005.  After the original release of Android operating system by Google, many updates were done in the original version.  The versions which have been updated in last many years are as follow:

What is Database?

Database is an index of information or we can say it is collection of data or information which is organized in a way, so that it can be accessed, modified and can be managed easily.  A well-structured database allows us to analyze, retrieval and handling of data and information.  This data could be in many forms e.g. scripts, tables, images, figures and graphics and usually these are stored in computers.  Almost, all the computer applications or software like spread sheets, antiviruses and word processors are database at their core.

The databases are generally divided into the following categories:

Relational Database

This type was invented in IBM in 1970 by E.F. Codd.  It is tabular kind of database which can be defined and reorganized in number of ways.  In this database we have table which includes rows and columns.  This type of database is very easy to elaborate and extend because in this category of new data can be added after creating original database.

Distributed Database

A distributed database is a kind of database in which the data is stored in different/multiple locations.  And in this database the processing replicating and dispersed in a network among different points.  Distributed database can be heterogeneous and homogeneous.

Cloud Database

Cloud storage is the model of cloud computing in which the data is saved/stored online via remote servers which can be accessed or managed from internet.  Cloud storage provides many benefits for the users, e.g. management, backup, storage, privacy and security and recovery of data.  And the best part of the process is your get all in very low cost and there is no need to purchase other expensive hardware for data management and storage.  One of biggest advantage of the Cloud Storage is that users can access the data as per their convenience whenever and wherever they are.

What is Computer architecture?

Computer architecture is the area of computer engineering in which set of methods and rules describes implementation, organization and functionality of computer systems.  Computer architecture basically specifies the assembling of hardware and software techniques to create as computer system or device.  In short, we can say that Computer architecture is the area which refers to designing and implementation of methods and technology.

One of good example of computer architecture is Von Neumann architecture, which is used for designing most types of computer nowadays.   This was introduced by the mathematician known as “John Von Neumann“ in year 1945.  It explains a design where a CPU is connected with a monitor, which also includes the arithmetic login unit, memory for data instructions, registers, control unit, an input & output interface etc.

The Computer Architecture is divided into the following three categories:

1) System Design: This includes all hardware components in the system, including data processors aside from the CPU, such as the graphics processing unit and direct memory access. It also includes memory controllers, data paths and miscellaneous things like multiprocessing and virtualization.

2)   Instruction Set Architecture (ISA): This is the embedded programming language of the central processing unit. It defines the CPU’s functions and capabilities based on what programming it can perform or process. This includes the word size, processor register types, memory addressing modes, data formats and the instruction set that programmers use.

3)   Microarchitecture: Otherwise known as computer organization, this type of architecture defines the data paths, data processing and storage elements, as well as how they should be implemented in the ISA.
